SENIOR MINISTER

Central Christian Church of Bristol, Tennessee, is seeking its next Senior Minister. After 13 years of dedicated service to Central and the Bristol community, Pastor Mark Overton has indicated he plans to retire. Our intention is that our new Senior Minister will work alongside Pastor Mark for three to six months to ensure a God-honoring succession. Once the successor has been identified, an intentional plan will be developed for the leadership authority to shift between the two senior leaders with the exiting leader’s authority becoming less, and the incoming leader’s authority becoming more.

Founded in 1903, Central Christian Church is a Restoration Movement New Testament congregation. We are located at 424 Melrose Street, in Bristol, Tennessee – just a few blocks away from our local high school and middle school. In 2023, our average attendance was just over 200 per week. We currently offer two worship services each Sunday morning (9:00am Traditional, 10:00am Sunday School, 11:00am Contemporary). On Wednesdays, we have a church-wide fellowship meal at 5:30pm followed by classes for all ages at 6:30pm. We have benefitted from excellent staff stability in recent years and hope to see our positive momentum carried forward with our next Senior Minister. CHILDREN’S MINISTER

The Children’s Minister has the responsibility to ensure that the ministry to birth through 5th grade children and their parents aligns with the beliefs, values and strategy of Central Christian Church. They will possess the ability to mobilize volunteers to provide a safe, caring environment where kids experience the love of Jesus. Candidate will also oversee a paid Children’s Assistant and paid nursery staff. Full-time is preferred, but we are open to Part-time in the right situation.
